What is the difference between presence or pulse detection?

Please see the information below on the differences between presence and pulse detection:

• True Presence - will be activated whenever a vehicle is present. Delay or extension does not influence the output.
• Entry Pulse - will be activated for 250 ms when the loop becomes occupied.
• Exit Pulse - will be activated for 250 ms when the loop becomes vacant.
